SUMMARY

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated educator to join our team at Parchment Northwood Elementary as a Global Studies instructor. This full-time position offers an opportunity to inspire and engage students in understanding the complexities of global issues, cultures, and interconnections. The ideal candidate will create a dynamic learning environment that promotes critical thinking, cultural awareness, and a sense of global citizenship among students.

RESPONSIBLITIES
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Global Studies curriculum that aligns with educational standards and promotes student engagement.
  • Foster a classroom environment that encourages open dialogue, respect for diversity, and critical analysis of global issues.
  • Design and execute lesson plans that incorporate various teaching methodologies, including project-based learning, group discussions, and interactive activities.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress through various assessment tools, providing constructive feedback to support their learning journey.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate Global Studies themes across different subjects and promote interdisciplinary learning.
  • Organize and facilitate extracurricular activities, such as global awareness events, cultural exchanges, and community service projects.
  • Stay current with global trends, educational best practices, and technological advancements to enhance the learning experience.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to foster a supportive and inclusive school community.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to continually improve teaching practices and stay informed about education initiatives.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Studies, Spanish, or a related field.
  • Teaching certification and endorsement in Social Studies (RX).
  • Proven experience in teaching or working with elementary school students, preferably in social studies context.
  • Strong understanding of global issues, cultural diversity, and pedagogical strategies for teaching these concepts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in using technology and educational tools to enhance learning and instruction.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the community to support student success.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment for all students.
