Salary:
Dependent on years of teaching experience and certification. Salary starting at $43,905. Will honor 100% of prior full-time teaching years. Eligible school for Teacher Loan Forgiveness. Merit Pay, Sick Day Buyback Program, and Tuition Reimbursement per CEA Contract.

CertificationValid Michigan Teaching Certificate Social Studies Endorsement (RX or CC) required. Additional endorsement preferred (i.e. DA, EX, BT, etc.)
Qualifications- Experience working with middle school students
- Experience in team-teaching & collaboration
- Demonstrates skills in the use of technology for integration of curriculum and reporting
- Demonstrates ability to integrate social studies concepts into instruction
- Adept at incorporating technology into lessons
- Ability to prepare students for the PSAT and M-STEP
- Experience in differentiated instruction
Maintains meaningful positive rapport with students and parents. Provides standards-based, structured project-based learning that interconnects with core subjects. Encourages student behavior that promotes character development. Creates and maintains effective environments for student learning. Uses technology to promote learning, creativity, and collaboration. Collaborates with staff to plan, integrate, and enhance grade-level standards in the classroom and in the science and engineering labs.
Pursues professional development that supports improved classroom practice and/or contributions to the field. Initiates partnerships to enhance instruction inside and outside the classroom. Designs and implements hands-on lessons/activities that encourage higher-level thinking. Implements Project-Based Learning/interdisciplinary units. Uses pre-assessments to plan differentiated instruction. Develops rigorous lesson plans that are driven by student assessment. Uses formative assessment to analyze progress toward student goals.
Designs assessments that allow students to respond in a variety of ways to curriculum that is taught. Ensures that students display knowledge of grade-level content standards. Consistently implements agreed-upon programs consistent with essential job functions. Collects and analyzes data to evaluate and improve teaching practice. Generates newsletters and updates website regularly. Champion and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion. Perform essential job functions as specified.
