Manufacturing Engineer | Kalamazoo, MI
Salary Range: $68,000 - $107,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes for new and existing products.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for production issues.
- Evaluate and recommend new manufacturing technologies, equipment, and materials.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions and process specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness of designs.
- Implement and monitor process control measures to ensure product quality and consistency.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and lower costs.
- Provide technical support and training to production personnel.
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on process improvement and optimization.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, AutoCAD) for designing and analyzing manufacturing layouts and tooling.
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and experience implementing tools such as 5S, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping.
- Experience with data analysis and statistical process control (SPC) to monitor and improve manufacturing performance.
- Experience with CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, AutoCAD) for design and analysis.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or demonstrated project leadership experience.
- Familiarity with ERP/MES systems for production planning and control.
- Experience with simulation software (e.g., Arena, Flex Sim) for process optimization.
