Calibration Technician | Kalamazoo, MI
Salary Range: $49,000 - $76,000
Key Responsibilities- Perform calibration and preventative maintenance on a wide range of measurement and test equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning calibration equipment and instrumentation.
- Document calibration results, including out-of-tolerance conditions and corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate calibration records and equipment history in the calibration management system.
- Adhere to established calibration procedures, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Assist in the development and improvement of calibration procedures and work instructions.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to ensure equipment availability and accuracy.
- Associate's degree in a technical field (e.g., electronics, metrology, mechanical engineering technology).
- 2+ years of experience performing calibration of various measurement equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of calibration principles, including measurement uncertainty, traceability, and instrument adjustment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documents, schematics, and calibration procedures.
- Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 17025) and relevant industry standards.
- Experience with metrology software (e.g., Gage Pack, Indy Soft) for data management and analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair complex test and measurement equipment.
- Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation requirements and quality management systems.
- IPC certification (e.g., J-STD-001, IPC-A-610) for soldering and electronic assembly.
- Prior experience training junior technicians or developing calibration procedures.
