Assistant​/Utility Horn

The Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra is looking for an Assistant/Utility Horn to assist the Principal Horn and Section Horns as needed. This position has the right of first refusal for all services requiring the Assistant/Utility Horn. The orchestra's performance season runs from September to August, with most performances scheduled between Labor Day and Memorial Day. The upcoming season includes a variety of concerts and events, such as youth concerts, special events, and family discovery concerts, along with opportunities for chamber music and community engagement.

• Compensation for this position includes $137.32 per service, with a guaranteed minimum of 28 services per season.
• Musicians will receive an additional 20% per service for doubling when applicable, along with two paid service absences per season.
• Additional benefits include reimbursement for travel expenses, lodging allowances, and a contribution towards hearing protection costs.

Candidates must adhere to the collective bargaining agreement and maintain eligibility to work in the United States.
