Summary
Regional Banking Relationship Manager Sr. is responsible for acquiring new business relationships to Huntington as well as maintaining and deepening relationships with existing customers. This is done by providing insights and guidance to business owners. The portfolio size is typically 30 to 60 clients, targeting businesses with sales sizes $2 MM to $50 MM and credit exposures up to $25 MM. The role serves a senior level sales position within Regional Banking with a heavy focus on businesses with greater than $25 MM in sales and functions as the backup to the Market Manager while providing credit and mentoring guidance to junior colleagues.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Acquire new, profitable business relationships through aggressive prospecting, networking and providing insights and advice, and build a robust network of local market COI relationships, both external and internal.
- Analyze, structure and close profitable loan transactions of the most complex nature in Regional Banking.
- Maintain and confirm creditworthiness of customers, gathering, reviewing and tracking appropriate documentation from applicants.
- Manage and maintain strong relationships with a book of existing business customers, providing insights and advice. Target markets are businesses between $2 MM and $50 MM in sales with aggregate credit exposures up to $25 MM, with a heavy focus on those above $25 MM.
- Deepen existing relationships through active engagement of internal partnerships and providing insightful advice and guidance to customers, delivering the entire bank to them.
- Take responsibility for portfolio management across varying sizes and complexities of credits, including quarterly portfolio reviews, CAR, and collection of necessary documents.
- Work with the Huntington Loan Center and Commercial Loan Servicing department to ensure accuracy and completeness of credit packages and delivery.
- Represent the bank within the community through representation on keyboards and at business and community functions.
- Work well within a team environment and collaborate closely with internal partners to deliver customer solutions.
- Partner with more junior Regional Banking colleagues on more complex credits.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (4 years of education and Business Banking/Commercial lending experience).
- 10+ years of Business Banking/Commercial Banking experience.
- Well‑versed in complex commercial credits with 10+ years of Business Banking or Commercial sales experience.
- Exempt status:
Yes (not eligible for overtime pay). - Workplace type:
Office (certain positions may be eligible for a flexible work arrangement).
