JOB SUMMARY:The Assistant Clinical Director is responsible for supporting the Clinical Director in the oversight, delivery, and continuous improvement of behavioral health services at the assigned facility and programs. This position serves as the on-site clinical leader, ensuring that all therapeutic services are delivered in alignment with Cornerstone Healing Centers policies, applicable state and federal regulations, and Joint Commission Accreditation Standards.

Working under the direct supervision of the Clinical Director, the Assistant Clinical Director helps implement clinical programming, monitor clinical compliance, and support staff performance to uphold the highest standards of care. This role is also responsible for ensuring the integrity of the clinical environment, staff training, chart documentation, and the fidelity of evidence-based practices across programs and levels of care.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Work as a key member of the Management Team to develop and carry out the company’s mission, vision, values, strategies, and objectives.

2. Supervise direct reports and direct the clinical team to meet the overall mission, objectives, and goals of the organization (level 10 management system, and OKR system metrics).

3. Provides (and/or delegates and verifies) clinical oversight and supervision for assigned therapists and oversee the clinical department.

4. Supervise day-to-day operations of clinical programming within the assigned facility, including levels of care and transitions in care.

5. Provide direct clinical supervision and/or oversight to behavioral health technicians, peer support specialists, and paraprofessional staff as assigned by the Clinical Director.

6. Ensure timely and appropriate clinical interventions, group facilitation, and treatment planning across all programs responsible for.

7. Ensure clinical documentation, EHR entries, treatment plans, and service delivery are in compliance with state licensure requirements, Joint Commission standards, and CHC policies.

8. Countersign all specified EHR entries within the specific timeframe of the organizational policy as it is related to the documentation of care, treatment, and services.

a. Review the charts of current clients per policy.

b. Countersign records of staff under oversight or supervision where clinically

appropriate.

c. Return documentation for refinement; the process to flag documentation that does not meet the standards of practice or quality.

d. Oversee the clinical dashboard and overall compliance of clinical documentation.

9. Support internal audits, chart reviews, and performance improvement activities as directed.

10. Monitor the clinical milieu to ensure safety, professionalism, and therapeutic integrity.

11. Conduct ongoing staff training on clinical policies, evidence-based practices, trauma-informed care, and documentation standards.

12. Participate in onboarding and orientation of new clinical and paraprofessional staff.

13. Mentor staff in clinical best practices and professional development pathways, including licensure supervision coordination.

14. Assist in the rollout of treatment curricula and program enhancements, including integration of S.M.A.R.T. treatment planning.

15. Monitor group schedules and client engagement to ensure appropriate therapeutic services.

16. Support the measurement of treatment outcomes and service effectiveness.

17. Oversee assignment and distribution of caseloads and ensure continuity of care.

18. Respond to critical incidents and behavioral emergencies in accordance with policy.

19. Collaborate with admissions, case management, and medical teams to ensure wraparound care.

20. May be “on call” for emergency situations.

21. Participates in daily, weekly, quarterly, and annual management meetings.

22. Collaborates and maintains positive relationships with the agency’s Directors, office staff, customers, regulating agencies, and clients.

23. Accept, investigate, respond, and ideally resolve staff and client complaints and grievances.

24. Duty to report suspected or alleged events to the appropriate agencies.

25. Complete other tasks as assigned.
