Senior Histologist

Dear Network, I am seeking a Senior Histologist for an initial W2 contract with scope to get extended onsite in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

This role involves performing high-quality tissue sectioning, staining, microscopy, and slide evaluation, while leading assay optimization to improve consistency, robustness, and reliability.

• Execute tissue sectioning, staining, microscopy, and slide evaluation to ensure accurate and reproducible results.
• Lead optimization efforts to improve assay performance and reduce variability.
• Train and mentor colleagues in foundational and advanced histology techniques including tissue handling, cryosectioning, immunofluorescent staining, and imaging.
• Ensure proper documentation of procedures and assay results according to standard operating procedures.
• Support method improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of more quantitative and reproducible workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain high-quality standards and troubleshoot assay challenges.

• Extensive experience in histology, tissue handling, cryosectioning, staining, microscopy, and imaging.
• Strong understanding of assay variability, reproducibility, and quality control principles.
• Experience leading assay optimization and method improvement efforts.
• Skilled in training, mentoring, and developing colleagues in laboratory techniques.
• Attention to detail with strong organizational, documentation, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, onsite laboratory environment.
