Position Details
RECOVERY COACH - Twenty hours per week - HOLLAND, MICHIGAN
Do you have at least two years of sobriety and Lived Experience in Substance Use and Recovery? Our Recovery Coach provides services to assigned clients, specifically identifying, connecting and educating clients & their families about available recovery resources within their community. This position also assists in community advocacy and education, evaluation of the community’s recovery support network and development of additional recovery supports if needed.
The hourly wage is $18.50 per hour plus comprehensive benefits, effective the first of the month following 30 days of employment.

Duties and Responsibilities- Develop a recovery plan for each assigned client, working with the SUD Program Supervisor and other SUD team members when necessary. Prioritize client needs appropriately by seeking feedback from all involved parties.
- Be an liaison between individuals in the recovery community and service providers through attending recovery events and providing feedback to their supervisor.
- Work with the Clinician and, if applicable, the Case Manager, to collaborate on treatment planning, case consultation and client needs.
- Work cooperatively with other community service providers as they work collaboratively to meet the needs of the families in their care.
- Attend team meetings as directed, and provide feedback of program strengths and growths areas seen from their perspective of being a person in recovery.
- Market and network with community partners and current/potential referral sources. Examples of this include but are not limited to attending community collaborative meetings, distributing marketing material, providing a description of services provided.
- Actively identify areas for improvement and develop recommendations for change through Samaritas QAPI process as appropriate.
- For the purposes of coordination of care, follow community partner, PIHP, CMH, and agency guidelines when providing treatment with patients receiving Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) or other medical treatment.
- Maintain appropriate boundaries with others in the recovering community.
Education, Training, and Licensure/Certification
- High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- State of Michigan Peer Recovery Support certification preferred. State of MI PRS (Peer Recovery Specialists) certification requirements must be met.
- Individual with Lived Experience in Substance Use and Recovery. Two years of sobriety required.
- CCAR (Connecticut Community for Addition Recovery) Certification preferred.
- Experience working with adults and/or families preferred.
Experience
- Minimum one year recovery coaching preferred.
Additional Work Requirements
- Valid unrestricted driver's license with good driving record and proof of automobile insurance.
