Position: Lead Host | Kalamazoo Country Club

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Interpersonal skills with focused attention to member needs to deal effectively with all business contacts
  • Understand member's service needs
  • Excellent professional presentation and grooming
  • Responsible for continued training in product knowledge and service standards
  • Maintain confidentiality of member information and pertinent data utilizing and following PCI compliance
  • Organize and consolidate steps of service for maximum productivity
  • Handle all transactions effectively and correctly (including cash, credit cards, house charges, gift cards and room charges)
  • Take direction, learn, and utilize information for the benefit of the club & its members
  • Work quickly and efficiently in a fast paced environment
  • Work well with others and work together for common goals
  • Follow all Greenleaf Hospitality Group policies and procedures
  • Resolve all member requests in an efficient manner regarding all aspects of the club.
  • Productive and proactive in providing personalized member experiences.
  • Answer questions regarding all aspects of the hotel and club outlets, amenities and services, including current/ upcoming events
  • Effectively operate the phones with a pleasant and professional tone of voice
  • Maintain control of the seating flow within the club (maximizing club capacity & proper rotation of sections)
  • Organize and take reservations including private party contracts
  • Greet member to feel welcome and appreciated
  • Effectively communicate group contact needs for private events to all staff
  • Assist with event functions in all capacities, from reservation, booking, contract, and execution of event.
  • Maintain accurate event receipts and spreadsheets.
  • Work closely with the Event Coordinator and handle tasks as directed.
  • Work well with others and work together for common goals; responsible to obtain all menus needed to do job of selling events and sell club effectively.
WHAT YOU NEED FOR THIS POSITION:
  • 2+years of host / hospitality experience
  • Demonstrated ability to improve operational efficiency
  • A commitment to creating great experiences for our members and guests
  • Able to stand for long periods of time, up to 8 hours or more
  • Able to stoop and bend
  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds from time to time
  • Able to safely work with potentially dangerous chemicals and equipment
  • Able to comply with safety and health code standards
  • Able to handle responsibilities that require repetitive motion tasks
