Residential Opportunities, Inc. (ROI) is seeking a detail-driven, people-focused Human Resources Assistant to join our HR team. If you enjoy balancing administrative precision with recruitment, training coordination, and employee support, and want to work for a mission-driven nonprofit — this could be the role for you.
At ROI, we support individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities, and our HR team plays a critical role in ensuring we hire, train, and retain exceptional staff who live our mission every day.
What You’ll Do Recruitment & Hiring- Pre-screen applicants and schedule interviews
- Conduct entry-level interviews and make hiring recommendations
- Ensure background checks and pre-screening compliance
- Design recruitment materials and social media content
- Participate in job fairs and recruitment events
- Coordinate and participate in New Hire Orientation
- Schedule and track required employee trainings
- Monitor compliance with agency and program requirements
- Maintain employee databases and personnel files
- Audit records for contract and regulatory compliance
- Prepare accurate HR reports
- Cross-train to support Benefits and other HR functions
- Provide professional support to visitors and staff
- Maintain strict confidentiality
- Support ROI’s commitment to diversity, inclusion, and anti-racism
- 2–3 years of administrative or HR support experience preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Experience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Associate’s degree preferred (or equivalent experience)
- Experience with recruitment marketing or social media is a plus
