General Maintenance - 2nd Shift

Perform general maintenance and cleaning work on building, grounds, and equipment. Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems, electrical problems, and mechanical failures on machines, equipment and buildings. Prepare surfaces and paint all types of machinery, office equipment, factory facilities, and buildings.

• Must have experience as a general maintenance person or a minimum of four to five years in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance.
• Must have experience and knowledge in carpentry, masonry, pipe fitting, welding, plumbing, heating & air conditioning, and pneumatic equipment.
• Must be able to establish working procedures for diversified tasks efficiently.
• Must be physically capable of performing the required tasks, including working at heights.
• Must have the aptitude to acquire basic maintenance knowledge and tools.

• Works under general supervision.
• Works in carpentry, masonry, pipe fitting, welding, plumbing, heating and air‑conditioning, low‑pressure hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and machinery moving.
• Assists in loading or unloading machinery, equipment, or material.
• Moves stock, chips, shavings, or other related tasks.
• Cleans machinery, equipment, or building fixtures as needed.
• Assists in various building, grounds, and equipment maintenance functions as directed by supervision.
• Determines proper method or chemicals to be used to prepare areas or objects for painting.
• Prepares area or objects for painting by cleaning, scraping, washing, sanding, etc.
• Selects and mixes proper primers and paints to proper consistency depending on method of application.
• Applies paint by appropriate method for job—airless spraying, conventional spraying, roller, or brush.
• Applies drywall and patching compounds.
• Troubleshoots and repairs various types of hydraulic systems.
• Interpret and work from blueprints, specifications, sketches, and written or oral instructions; operate required tools.
• Pass all tests given by the Company.
• Participates in continuous‑improvement activities with the classification/department.
