Herd Operations Manager
Gladwin, MI
Our client is a growing multi‑site dairy operation seeking a hands‑on leader to bridge herd management, feed execution, and operational coordination. This is a new role created due to expansion and growth.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee herd health routines and support existing herdsman
- Manage feed execution and bunk management
- Monitor feeding accuracy + collaborate with nutrition/crop teams
- Coordinate across herd, shop/maintenance, and forage teams
- Ensure issues are followed through to completion (not just delegated)
- Lead and support a predominantly Hispanic labor force
- Work directly with ownership to drive performance and efficiency
- Experience in dairy herd management
- Exposure to feed/bunk management (or strong willingness to learn)
- Operational, problem‑solving, and leadership mindset
- Strong communication + accountability skills
- “All hands in” attitude vs. siloed thinking
Nutrition knowledge is a plus but not required.
Schedule & Location- On‑site role, 5–6 days/week (rotation)
- Increased involvement during planting/harvest seasons
- Local preferred; relocation support available for the right person
