Role Summary Flowserve is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist II to join the Center of Excellence Manufacturing Center. In this role, you will set up, operate, troubleshoot, and support continuous improvement of advanced CNC machining equipment used to manufacture Flowserve components for sites across the Americas. This position supports a next‑generation manufacturing environment built around CNC automation, precision machining, standardized processes, and operational excellence.
The successful candidate will bring strong machining fundamentals, a working knowledge of GD&T, the ability to evaluate CNC programs for safe and logical operation, and a proactive approach to maintaining clear, effective standard operating procedures.
- Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machining equipment, including the DMG MORI NTX 3000 multitasking machine.
- Produce components to blueprint, routing, quality, and delivery requirements.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Use precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, dial indicators, depth gauges, and other inspection equipment.
- Review CNC programs and machining sequences to identify obvious errors, inefficiencies, unsafe conditions, or opportunities for improvement before and during production.
- Make approved CNC program edits and offsets as needed to maintain quality, improve cycle time, and support safe machine operation.
- Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections; document results in accordance with established quality procedures.
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling, fixturing, and quality issues; escalated more complex concerns as appropriate.
- Support preventive maintenance activities, machine cleaning, basic upkeep, and workplace organization.
- Help develop, maintain, improve, and standardize work instructions, setup sheets, SOPs, and other manufacturing documentation.
- Follow established processes for safety, quality, environmental compliance, and operational requirements.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, engineers, quality personnel, maintenance, and fellow machinists to resolve issues and support production goals.
- Participate in continuous-improvement activities related to safety, quality, delivery, cost, and process consistency.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area consistent with 5S and site standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Work effectively with machinists, supervisors, engineers, quality, maintenance, and material-handling personnel to meet daily safety, quality, delivery, and productivity goals.
- Adapt to changing production priorities and support cross-training, shift handoffs, and team coverage as business needs require.
- Communicate machine, tooling, quality, and schedule concerns promptly; participate in practical problem-solving and continuous-improvement activities.
