Senior Director Beacon Health Foundation Michigan

The Senior Director, Beacon Health Foundation Michigan serves as Beacon Health Foundation’s senior in-market fundraising leader for Michigan. This position is responsible for advancing philanthropic growth in Michigan through consistent presence, external relationship development, hospital president and clinical leader engagement, council development, board and community relationships, and a personal major gift portfolio.

This role functions as the Foundation’s senior development leader in Michigan without creating a separate Michigan fundraising team. The position is directly tied to the unified Major Gifts Team and works in close partnership with the Director of Development, Major Gifts Team to ensure Michigan donor strategy, portfolio movement, solicitation readiness, stewardship, and pipeline activity are aligned with Foundation-wide fundraising standards.

This position is intentionally broader than a traditional major gift officer role. The Senior Director carries a personal major gift portfolio but also serves as the senior Foundation presence for Michigan hospital presidents, clinical leaders, System and subsidiary board members, Foundation council members, donors, prospects, and community leaders. The purpose of the role is to build trust, create access, advance donor relationships, strengthen Beacon Health Foundation’s presence in Michigan, and ensure Michigan philanthropic opportunities are developed through one shared Foundation fundraising system.

The Director also helps develop and implement a comprehensive Michigan market fundraising strategy, translates hospital and clinical priorities into compelling cases for support, and advances grateful patient philanthropy through appropriate collaboration with physicians, clinical leaders, hospital leaders, councils, boards, donors, and volunteers.

• Serve as the senior Foundation fundraising leader in the Michigan market where Beacon has hospitals.
• Represent Beacon Health Foundation with Michigan hospital presidents, clinical leaders, donors, prospects, council members, board members, and community leaders.
• Build Beacon Health Foundation’s credibility, visibility, and philanthropic presence in Michigan markets.
• Advance philanthropic priorities by helping Michigan leaders, clinicians, and community partners understand how philanthropy can support patient care, innovation, access, community health, and strategic growth.
• Develop a clear understanding of Michigan hospital and clinical priorities so donor conversations are connected to meaningful philanthropic opportunity.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive Michigan market fundraising strategy focused on major and leadership giving, aligned with Foundation-wide fundraising priorities and standards.
• Lead the identification and development of Michigan philanthropic priorities in partnership with the Foundation President, hospital presidents, senior executives, physicians, and clinical leaders.
• Translate Michigan hospital and clinical priorities into clear, compelling cases for support that align with Beacon Health Foundation’s message platforms and donor strategy.
• Increase Michigan philanthropic market presence through intentional outreach, donor storytelling, community visibility, and relationship-based engagement.
