Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry position in a cardiac unit requiring a MI RN license and ACLS certification.

• Work on a 54-bed main Cardiac Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
• Cardiac patient population includes heart failure, heart attack, stroke, arrhythmias, and chest pain patients
• Patient ratios typically range from 1:5-6, with occasional increases up to 1:7 due to staffing
• Use of cardiac monitors and cardiac drips; patients are monitored both remotely and on the unit
• May care for overflow medical patients as needed
• Night shift schedule: 3x12 hours (19:00-07:30)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Must work two out of three major holidays
• Uses Cerner Power chart for charting
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Support available from other travelers and ongoing staff hiring
• Caribbean blue scrubs required
• Block scheduling is not guaranteed but efforts will be made to accommodate requests

• Active MI RN license required
• Minimum one year of recent telemetry nursing experience required
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Experience with cardiac drips and telemetry monitoring preferred
