Shift: Nights – 3x12 Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

GMU is a Stepdown unit caring for general medical and oncology stepdown patients.

• Daily Census: 29

• Beds: 29

• Patient Ratio: 1:4–6

• Weekend Requirement:
Every Other Weekend

• Floating:
Required to other Med/Surg units, AU, and ER (for med/surg level patients)

• Call:
None

• Sepsis

• Renal Failure

• Respiratory Failure

• Cancer

• Heart Failure

• DKA / Diabetes

Special Procedures/Equipment:

• Chemotherapy administration (IV)

• CAPD

• BiPAP / CPAP

• Sigma IV Pumps

• Welch Allyn Vital Sign Towers

• EPIC Documentation

• Minimum 2 Years PCU/Stepdown Experience

• Active Michigan RN License

• BLS (AHA)

• NIHSS

• ONC (ONCC) OR ONS Certification
  - ONS may be pending
  - ONC must be active/in hand

• Experience administering IV chemotherapy

• Strong IV insertion skills

• ACLS

• OCN

• Block scheduling may be accommodated (include specific request at submission)

• Must be available first two weeks of assignment

• Any RTO must be disclosed at time of submission

• Travelers are first to float

• Charge RN typically not in patient assignment

• Flu Vaccine Required (Medical exemptions only – documentation required)

• COVID Vaccine Not Required

• Locals accepted at same rate (no radius restriction)

• Return staff policy: 6 months
