- Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts (18:00 – 06:00) — Night Shift RN
- Hours per Week: 36 (guaranteed)
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,890 – $1,990 (estimated weekly pay for travel RNs)
- Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics
- Unit: Cardiac Short Stay (Cardiology Oth Svcs Anc - 4642), 46 beds
- Charting: Cerner Power Chart (required)
- Scrub Color: Caribbean Blue
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays if scheduled
- Floating: To like units or affiliate hospitals as needed
- COVID-19 & Flu Vaccine: Required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Local Rule: Travelers must live at least 50 miles from the facility
- Experience: Minimum 1 year recent Cardiac Telemetry or similar acute care experience (1–2 years preferred). First-time travel RNs welcome.
- Licensure: Active RN license or pending Michigan license (must apply within 24 hours of offer) — Michigan RN license preferred
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (pending accepted, but must be obtained prior to start)
- Charting Experience: Cerner Power Chart required — telemetry nurse charting experience
- Patient Ratio: 1:6 (days, nights, weekends)
- Orientation: 16 hours; up to 8 hours of pre-start modules (self-reported)
- Return Staff Policy: Must be gone 3 years before returning as a traveler
- Background Check: Nursys verification required
- Deliver compassionate, high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a busy Cardiac Telemetry/Short Stay unit
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, manage dysrhythmias, and respond to rapid response/code situations — core telemetry nurse duties
- Administer and manage cardiac drips (e.g., Nitroglycerin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Heparin, Lasix) and other medications per protocol
- Provide pre- and post-procedure care for cardiac cath, angiogram, and surgical patients
- Perform venous sheath pulls, manage central/PICC/peripheral lines, and administer blood products as needed
- Support patients with BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow oxygen, tracheostomy care, and non-invasive airway management
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including PT, RT, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and more
- Float to similar units within the hospital or affiliate hospitals as needed
- Document all care accurately and timely in Cerner Power Chart
- Maintain professional conduct and adhere to all facility policies and procedures
