Registered Nurse Manager 12

Part of the nursing staff responsible for the care of patients on the unit during an eight‑hour shift. This includes supervising and providing clinical care, ensuring a therapeutic and safe environment, monitoring patient treatment plans, and managing subordinate nursing staff.

Essential duties include:

• Providing oversight and direct nursing care to patients.
• Scheduling and evaluating nursing staff performance.
• Training staff, patients, and families on care procedures.
• Maintaining a safe, sanitary, and humane environment.
• Ensuring compliance with the affirmative action plan and departmental values.

During training, serves as RN Shift Supervisor for eight‑hour shifts, delivering nursing care and monitoring patients with physical and psychological conditions.

Essential duties include:

• Supervising, assigning, and evaluating staff.
• Training staff, patients, and families.
• Maintaining a safe and sanitary environment.
• Supporting positive behavior and attitudes aligned with the Mission and Vision.

Possession of a diploma, associate, bachelor’s, or master’s degree in nursing authorized for licensure by the Michigan Board of Nursing.

Registered Nurse Manager 12:
One year of experience equivalent to a Registered Nurse P11. Possession of a master’s degree in nursing or a bachelor’s degree in nursing and six months of equivalent experience may substitute for the experience requirement.

Registered Nurse Manager (Recruit):
No specific type or amount of experience required.

Must hold a Michigan registered nurse license in good standing. Candidates are subject to pre‑employment, random, post‑accident, reasonable suspicion, return‑to‑duty, and follow‑up drug and alcohol testing.

Individuals with less than one year of experience may be considered for the Recruit position; after a satisfactory one‑year probation period they may reclassify to the RN Manager 12 class and corresponding pay range.

Positions may involve 12‑hour shifts.
