Registered Nurse – Pediatrics Unit (12N)

Location:

BMH Bronson Methodist Hospital. Shift: 12‑hour night shift, Full‑time, 36 hours per week.

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using the nursing process.
• Coordinate and delegate care to support staff within scope of practice.
• Document patient status, resource use, and anticipated needs during each shift.
• Provide selected aspects of physical care appropriate to acuity and complexity.
• Assist in discharge planning and communicate with interdisciplinary team.
• Maintain competency and participate in quality improvement activities.
• Ensure patient safety, comfort, and education throughout care delivery.

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing required;
  Bachelor’s degree preferred, must be obtained within 8 years of hire.
• Licensed Registered Nurse in good standing for the state of Michigan.
• BLS certification required upon completion of core orientation; critical care/ALS and other certifications may be required as specified by unit.
• Additional certifications (e.g., PALS, ACLS, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Trauma Nursing Core Course) as needed.
• Valid driver’s license in Michigan and proof of insurance.
• Strong verbal, written, and electronic communication skills.
• Ability to work in an environment with mental/visual fatigue, repetitive tasks, and moderate lifting (up to 50 lbs).
