Title:

Registered Nurse (RN) – Mother Baby Unit, Full‑time 12‑N Shift

• Manage care delivery for patients throughout the length of stay, achieving quality outcomes and timely discharge.
• Utilize the nursing process (assessment, planning, diagnosing, implementation, evaluation) to provide comprehensive nursing care.
• Coordinate care provided by other professionals and delegate selected acts, tasks, or functions within scope of nursing practice.
• Provide selected aspects of physical care appropriate for the patient’s acuity and complexity of care.
• Document and communicate patient response to care, resource consumption, and anticipated needs during each tour of duty.
• Display competencies specific to the mother‑baby population, including assessment of newborns, use of vital signs, and evaluation of patient status.

• Collect comprehensive patient data, assess physical and developmental needs, analyze assessment data to identify problems.
• Confirm patient problems and document expected outcomes and plan of care.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans using clinical pathways and evidence‑based interventions.
• Administer medications and treatments per approved nursing techniques and policies.
• Initiate patient education plans and coordinate team involvement.
• Evaluate effectiveness of interventions and document patient response toward expected outcomes.

• Associate’s degree in Nursing required;
  Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
• Registered Nurse in good standing in the state of Michigan; must obtain BSN within 8 years of hire.
• BLS certification required by completion of core orientation; critical care or ALS certification may be required.
• Unit‑specific NRP certification required by completion of core orientation.
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring certification (PQF or NCC) required within 6 months of completing intermediate fetal monitoring for RNs in Labor & Delivery and Mother/Baby/Antepartum.
• Driver’s license in the state of Michigan and proof of insurance required for BAH.
