Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant – Family Medicine

Mattawan, MI

Position:
Full‑time, outpatient only. The role is open Monday–Friday, 7am–5pm. The successful candidate will serve in a busy, established Family Medicine practice, working alongside four family practitioners and one APP.

• Collaborate with physicians to deliver patient‑ and family‑centered care.
• Provide direct patient care requiring competencies for the population served.
• Establish diagnoses for common short‑term and chronic stable health problems.
• Order and evaluate diagnostic studies; perform and monitor therapeutic procedures such as sutures, incision and drainage, IVs, casting, and splinting.
• Prescribe and regulate medications per physician‑agreed protocols.
• Record and document health appraisal data to maintain and expedite required services and meet clinic policies.
• Manage time, cost outcomes, professional relationships, and interpersonal interactions.
• Act as a resource and implement education programs to improve patient/family management.
• Conduct formal or informal in‑service and continuing education programs in areas of expertise.
• Maintain and enhance knowledge of professional practices through continuing education and licensure requirements.
• Support research by defining clinical questions, participating in studies, and applying findings to practice.
• Collaborate with physicians to develop appropriate care plans and refer patients to specialists and community resources.
• Provide emergency care within ACLS and/or BLS guidelines.
• Participate in professional memberships, community outreach, and marketing activities to enhance the NP role.

• Master’s degree (MSN or MS in Nursing) and at least 2years of recent clinical experience related to Family Medicine.
• Current RN licensure in the State of Michigan.
• Certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse in a specialty area of practice.
• Ability to maintain medical staff privileges and comply with state regulations.
• Proficiency in basic computer programs for documentation and record keeping.
