Registered Nurse – Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

Bronson Methodist Hospital – Part‑time 12‑Hour Night Shift (48 hours per pay period)

Responsibilities
  • Manage patient care throughout the length of stay using the nursing process of assessment, planning, diagnosing, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Coordinate care provided by other professionals and delegate selected acts, tasks or functions within the scope of nursing practice.
  • Provide aspects of physical care appropriate to the patient’s acuity and complexity.
  • Document and communicate patient response to care, consumption of resources, and anticipated needs during each tour of duty.
  • Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health, assess physical and developmental needs, analyze assessment data to identify patient problems, and develop individualized care plans.
  • Implement nursing interventions, administer medications and treatments, maintain awareness of comfort and safety needs, and initiate patient education plans.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of care and progress toward expected outcomes.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and apply evidence‑based interventions specific to the patient’s plan.
  • Engage in continuing education, maintain professional competency records, and participate in peer review and professional development activities.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team to achieve positive outcomes and advocate for patient rights.
  • Contribute to a supportive, professional work environment and serve as a resource for peers.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in Nursing required;
    Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Must hold a current Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing for the state of Michigan.
  • Must obtain a BSN within 8 years of hire if not already held at time of hire.
  • BLS certification required upon completion of core orientation.
  • Critical Care or ALS certification (and other unit‑specific certifications) may be required.
  • Current driver’s license and proof of insurance required for BAH.
