TitlePhysician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner – Neurosurgery
Position OverviewFull‑time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to support the Neurosurgery division across Kalamazoo and Battle Creek. Duties include inpatient rounding, outpatient clinic, surgical assistance, and team‑based patient care. No required night call; weekend rotation for inpatient coverage.
Responsibilities- Assist in delivering medical care by reviewing and monitoring treatment and therapy plans in inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Obtain medical and personal histories, perform physical exams, order appropriate laboratory, diagnostic, and radiographic tests, and interpret results.
- Educate patients and families regarding the plan of care.
- Work with multidisciplinary teams to manage neurosurgical and neuroendovascular patients.
- Assist surgeons in the operating room on spinal and cranial cases.
- Provide support for all neurosurgeons and neuroendovascular surgeons on a rotating basis.
- Minimum 1–2 years experience as an APP preferred but not required; experience in neurosurgery, other surgery specialties, or neurology preferred.
- Able to practice independently with strong clinical decision‑making skills and clear communication with patients and caregivers.
- Proficient with Electronic Medical Record (Epic) navigation.
- Graduate of an accredited PA or NP program with unrestricted license to practice in Michigan.
- Capable of supporting surgeons as OR first assist.
- First shift, full time.
- 40 hours per week.
