Position Summary
Bronson Healthcare is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join the growing Infectious Disease Program at Bronson Battle Creek Hospital.
As an APP, you will provide comprehensive Infectious Diseases services in the inpatient setting. You will work alongside two physicians and one other APP.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive inpatient Infectious Disease care.
- Collaborate with physicians, other medical specialties, hospital epidemiology, and infection prevention teams.
- Work within a hospital‑employed, primarily inpatient service schedule (Monday–Friday, 8a.m.–5p.m.).
- Share on‑call responsibilities with other providers.
- Use EPIC EMR fully integrated within the Bronson Healthcare system.
- Perform histories and physical examinations, interpret laboratory and radiographic studies, formulate diagnoses, and develop treatment plans within the scope of practice.
- Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate patient progress toward outcomes, including discharge planning.
- Act as a clinical resource for the multidisciplinary team, providing assertive coordination, identifying complications, and implementing preventative measures.
- Facilitate timely discharges or transfers, applying regulatory and payer criteria.
- Maintain clinical documentation supporting billing, medical care, orders, and progress notes.
- Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current unrestricted or pending licensure in the state of Michigan.
- DEA license to prescribe medications (for PA).
- Current prescriptive authority and collaborative agreement with oversight physician(s).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and commitment to compassionate, patient‑centered care.
- Ability to utilize word processing, spreadsheet, presentation programs, and other relevant software.
- Experience with inpatient infectious disease services preferred.
