Fusion Medical Staffing Facility in Jackson, Michigan is seeking a skilled Stepdown RN for a 13‑week travel assignment in Jackson, Michigan. One year of recent experience as a Stepdown RN, current valid RN license in compliance with state regulations, Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) Certification are required. A Stepdown Registered Nurse provides care to patients who are transitioning from intensive care to medical‑surgical or general inpatient units.

• A Stepdown Registered Nurse provides care to patients who are transitioning from intensive care to medical‑surgical or general inpatient units. These patients require frequent monitoring and specialized nursing interventions.
• They assess and manage complex patient needs, administer medications and treatments, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, patient‑centered care.
• Monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and other telemetry data to detect abnormalities and respond appropriately.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, with a focus on cardiac care.
• Prepares equipment and aids physicians during cardiac‑related procedures and examinations.
• Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of telemetry patients.
• Observes patients, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of patient’s cardiac status and response to interventions.
• Responds to life‑saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols specific to cardiac emergencies.
• Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned telemetry patients.
• Initiates patient education plans according to individualized needs, focusing on cardiac health, risk factors, and lifestyle modifications.
• Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for telemetry patients.
• Adheres to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards.
• Maintains the ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language.
• Provides physical support by remaining in a stationary position, moving about, and moving equipment (50‑100lb), push, pull, and bend as required.
• Displays mental resilience by coping with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure.
• Works under close supervision occasionally, as well as independently without assistance from other personnel.
• Communicates efficiently by possessing visual acuity and effectively relating with others.
• Manages tasks effectively by performing fine manipulation and motor skills during procedures and using departmental equipment.
