Position Title

APP Urology – Bronson Urology and Continence Specialists, BMH Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo, Michigan

Position Highlights
  • Practice hours: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday‑Friday (no weekends, holidays, or call)
  • Participation in clinical patient appointments under physician oversight
  • Preferred 1‑2 years of patient care experience as an APP
  • Comfortable with primarily adult patients
Responsibilities
  • Conduct clinical patient consultations, procedures, and follow‑ups.
  • Perform basic medical procedures (suturing, incision & drainage, IV placement, casting).
  • Order and evaluate diagnostic studies; interpret results.
  • Prescribe and regulate medications per physician‑agreed protocols.
  • Document patient care using electronic health records.
  • Coordinate referrals to specialists and community resources.
  • Provide emergency care within ACLS/BLS guidelines.
  • Participate in continuing education, professional memberships, and community outreach to enhance the NP role.
  • Contribute to process improvement and policy development initiatives.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to state regulations and professional ethics.
  • Support research activities by defining clinical questions and incorporating findings into practice.
Qualifications
  • Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Current unrestricted or pending licensure in Michigan.
  • Master’s degree (MSN or MS in Nursing) and 2 years of recent clinical experience related to the area of practice (required for NP).
  • Advanced Practice Nurse certification in specialty area of practice.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to use basic computer programs for documentation and record‑keeping.
  • Commitment to compassionate, patient‑centered care.
  • Willingness to participate in continuing education and professional development.

Work Hours & Shift

Full‑time; 40 hours per week. First Shift: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday‑Friday.
