Night shift Registered Nursefor  our Surgical Department at Kalamazoo Hospital in Kalamazoo ,MI.

Full-Time/FTE 0.60(24hrs/wk)

Shift: Nights
Shift Details:7p-7:30a; weekend rotation, Holiday rotation

Department Registered Nurse,you’llreport to the Director or Manager to provide professional nursing services in the area of assignment, assess the needs of patients and initiates, and implement and evaluate individualized plans of care. You will collaborate with other professional, clinical, and ancillary staff in providing compassionate and quality care to patients.

Surgical Department RN

Job Responsibilities
  • Safely and effectively performs high-risk, high-frequency technical procedures in accordance withlegal and professional standards.
  • Prioritizes patient care activities based on acuity, resource availability, patient preferences, and departmental needs.
  • Identifies and responds to physical or emotional health risks,initiatingappropriate correctiveor preventive actions.
  • Maintains accountability for personal and delegated decisions, using evidence-based practices, protocols, and organizational values.
  • Seeks supervision or resources when needed to ensure safe and effective care; collaborates to resolve complex issues.
  • Develops, revises, and evaluates individualized care plans that reflect patient goals, preferences, and needs across physical, emotional, social, and spiritual domains.
  • Ensures continuity of care through appropriate interventions,modifyingplans based on effectiveness and patient satisfaction.
  • Accurately documents assessments, interventions, and outcomes within established guidelines.
  • Communicates effectively with team members to achieve positive outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Delegates tasks appropriately based on patient needs, staff roles, and competencies, whilemaintainingaccountability for outcomes.
  • Supports professional development of peers through role modeling, feedback, and precepting.
  • Advocates for patients and families to ensure appropriate careand outcomes.

What You Bring

As a Registered Nurse,you’llbringa high levelof knowledge and competency in performing nursing care procedures, assessments, treatment, and techniques and your advanced analytical skills are necessary to solve complex problems and make decisions related to patient care. Youdemonstratethe interpersonal skills necessary toestablishand maintain effective working relationships with staff, patients, visitors,physicians and others. Youdemonstratethe ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner.

Youhave an understanding ofthe need to be responsive andreasonably adaptablefor scheduling purposes, when necessary, due to extenuating circumstances in support of co-workers and department functions.

Required Qualifications
  • Completion of an accredited nursing program and RN license in the state of Michigan
  • Within 5 years of employment as an RN, obtain a BSN or certification in your area of specialty
