First Article Inspector | Kalamazoo, MI

Salary Range: $50,000 - $77,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Support operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives

Recommended Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred
• 3+ years experience in quality inspection, preferably with First Article Inspection (FAI) experience
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications (GD&T)
• Strong understanding of metrology and experience using precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM)
• Knowledge of AS9102 or similar FAI reporting standards
• Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills

Bonus Qualifications

• CMM experience (PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS)
• Experience with various metrology tools (e.g., optical comparators, vision systems, surface roughness testers)
• Ability to interpret and apply GD&T principles beyond basic inspection
• Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis for quality improvement
• ASQ certification (e.g., CMI, CQI, CRE)
