Are you a strategic, people‑focused sales leader who thrives in a fast‑moving environment? We’re seeking a Sales Manager to lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing sales team while driving growth across an established multi‑market territory.
About the RoleThe Sales Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the sales function for an assigned division. This role focuses on executing effective sales strategies, developing talent, and achieving targeted revenue goals. You’ll work closely with cross‑functional leaders, manage customer relationships, and identify opportunities to enhance market presence.
Key Responsibilities Sales Strategy & Execution- Develop and implement comprehensive business, sales, and marketing strategies that align with the broader operating plan.
- Maintain accountability for sales forecasting, goal achievement, and key performance metrics.
- Participate in pricing strategy discussions to support revenue initiatives.
- Lead a team of Account Executives, Account Managers, and territory personnel.
- Oversee hiring, onboarding, coaching, and performance management.
- Conduct weekly ride‑alongs to provide hands‑on coaching, skill development, and field support.
- Hold regular team meetings to review funnel activity, retention efforts, training needs, and performance.
- Support new customer acquisition, bid preparation, and retention strategies.
- Maintain active relationships with assigned accounts to anticipate needs, resolve issues, and uncover opportunities.
- Review client agreements for accuracy, pricing alignment, and service requirements.
- Monitor market trends, customer behavior, and competitive landscape to adapt strategy and proactively manage territory performance.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of product offerings, service capabilities, and pricing to support the team in the field.
- Ensure accurate, timely completion of sales reporting.
- Primary coverage:
Kalamazoo
, with extended coverage into Marshall → Lansing
, and Stevensville (lake region). - Team includes:
- 2 Account Executives (New Business)
- 2 Account Managers (Retention)
- 1 Territory Executive
- 1 Construction Account Manager covering the full territory
- 5+ years of experience leading or managing sales teams.
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing sales strategies.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to engage all levels of management.
- Excellent time management, follow‑through, and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong active listening skills, professionalism, and a high‑energy, persuasive approach.
- Self‑motivated with a competitive drive and commitment to achieving goals.
- Ability to foster teamwork, lead through change, and support organizational development.
- Valid driver’s license.
