About the role

As a Low Voltage Technician, you will be responsible for installing, trouble shooting, repairing, and maintaining Low Voltage systems including but not limited to Fire Alarm, Card Access, Camera, and Security systems. Your primary goal will be to ensure the safe and efficient operation of low voltage systems, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity. You will work independently or as part of a team, both in the field and on‑site at client locations, providing exceptional service to our customers.

Your duties will include installation, programming, and commissioning of these low voltage systems. On the job training will be provided as needed for maximum proficiency.

What you’ll do
  • Perform system inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance on a variety of low voltage systems, including but not limited to fire alarm, card access, camera, and security systems.
  • Diagnose electrical problems using various testing devices and equipment and implement effective solutions to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Install, upgrade, and modify low voltage systems and equipment, ensuring compliance with electrical codes and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with clients, project managers, and other team members to understand project requirements, timelines, and priorities.
  • Provide accurate and detailed reports on work performed, including observations, recommendations, and time logs.
  • Keep up to date with advancements in low voltage system technology, codes, and safety standards, and apply knowledge to enhance service delivery and maintain a high level of expertise.
  • Maintain and organize tools, equipment, and inventory to ensure their availability and proper functioning.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety protocols always, promoting a safe work environment for yourself and others.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by effectively communicating with clients, addressing their concerns, and resolving any issues that may arise.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship program is preferred.
  • Registered Electrical apprentice license is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of low voltage systems, equipment, and components, including their installation, operation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Proficiency in interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Familiarity with applicable electrical codes, regulations, and safety practices.
  • Ability to effectively use electrical testing and diagnostic equipment.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • 2+ years of electrical field experience.
  • Proficient in Low Voltage systems installation and maintenance.
