Bilingual Parent Liaison
10 Month Hourly Position
$16.63-$25.00 per hour (based on experience)
Scope of ResponsibilitiesThe Bilingual Parent Liaison is responsible for strengthening the connection between the school district and identified families while building strong family and community partnerships. The Bilingual Parent Liaison will apply a family-centered, strength-based approach in services delivered. The Bilingual Parent Liaison will work with families to increase resilience factors and build bridges to strengthen support for students' education, health and overall well being within the school environment.
Families refer to students and their caregivers (Caregivers are those adults, such as biological, foster, or adoptive parents as well as grandparents, aunts/uncles and other custodial adults that may have legal authority for a student's care).
The Bilingual Parent Liaison partners with families in removing barriers to increase family engagement and partnership with the school. The Bilingual Parent Liaison will provide appropriate information and guidance to support caregivers while strengthening student and family ties with a positive and supportive school environment.
Performance Responsibilities- Referral/Outreach/Prioritization of students/families in advocacy partnership
- Caregiver involvement and family partnership building
- Build and maintain community partnerships
- Service coordination
- Ongoing monitoring and record keeping
- Embraces and supports philosophies related to diversity, equity, and anti-racism to include and support families and students of color, those learning English as a new language, those with immigrant status, students in foster care, students who are homeless, students with disabilities and economically disadvantaged students and families.

- Know and use ethical guidelines of service delivery and respect the confidentiality of those served.

- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma, GED or accredited equivalent required. Proof upon hire is required.
- Previous experience as a caregiver for children within the district, prior parent of children within the district and/or current community members.
- Experience working with diverse populations such as students of color, students learning English as a new language, immigrant students, students in foster care, students who are homeless, economically disadvantaged students, students with disabilities, etc.
- Must possess excellent listening skills, the ability to develop positive relationships with diverse families, and experience in utilizing community resources.
- Valid driver's license, access to and ability to utilize transportation in order to perform job activities.
- Associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
