SUMMARY: The High School Assistant Baseball Coach provides leadership and supervision for the team and works closely with the Head Coach and other coaching staff members and administration of the school.
QUALIFICATIONS- High School Diploma (College education, preferred).
- Previous coaching experience at the high school or college level.
- Knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of baseball.
- Ability to motivate students to work as a team.
- Coach and supervise the school baseball program and team.
- Encourage Multi-sport athletes.
- Provide training rules to all athletes.
- Understand and follow MHSAA policies, rules, and guidelines at all times.
- Be a positive role model and mentor to student athletes.
- Attend all MHSAA, athletic department and league meetings as needed.
- Promote a program of teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Ensure that student athletes adhere to training rules, grade policies, and rules of behavior.
- Ensure the continual supervision of student athletes during games, in conditioning, and in locker/shower room.
- Keep abreast of new information, innovative ideas, and techniques.
- Support the value of an education.
- Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director and Head Baseball Coach.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk; stand; sit; use hands for fine manipulation, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms using a keyboard and video display terminal. The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, ability to adjust focus, depth perception and peripheral vision.
