Position: Warehouse Team Lead Manager Support

Overview

Ryder is hiring a Warehouse Team Lead in Kalamazoo, MI.

Warehouse positions pay weekly and offer benefits. This description outlines responsibilities and requirements for the role at Ryder.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and ensure continuous improvement efforts for optimal efficiency of the operations.
  • Perform warehouse functions, which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting.
  • Allocate resources and organize and distribute daily work duties to team members to ensure optimal shift/team operational logistics.
  • Inspire and guide team members towards improved Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) using appropriate leadership styles and methods.
  • Provide orientation and necessary information, technology and tools for employees to perform their jobs.
  • Promote health and safety working methods within the warehouse.
  • Handle day-to-day paperwork in a warehouse environment (e.g., picking sheets, returns, bills of lading).
  • Complete and submit daily reports and propose action plans to enhance operations effectiveness and service levels.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • One (1) year or more powered industrial truck experience preferred
  • One (1) year or more previous experience as Team Lead preferred
  • One (1) year or more Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) preferred
  • One (1) year or more previous warehouse experience preferred
  • Knowledge and/or experience with an RF scanner is preferred
  • Valid forklift operator's license certified
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective leadership skills
  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Performs work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Bilingual (For Québec locations only) is noted where applicable
  • Knowledge or experience with an RF scanner is preferred
