Warehouse Laborer

Position Summary

Receiver – 1st Shift – Kalamazoo, MI. Responsible for receiving goods onto dock, transferring to the receiving area, identifying items, validating quantities, logging and issuing materials to stockroom, warehouse, or designated location.

• Checks goods received against bills of lading or purchase orders.
• Inspects goods for damage and expiration dates.
• Identifies and accounts for all histamine products (seafood only).
• Sorts, counts, and checks received items.
• Maintains required clerical records and completes housekeeping activities.
• Operates warehouse equipment to move goods to storage areas.
• Identifies damaged packaging and/or possible cross‑contaminated products.
• Performs returns, maintains and rotates cooler and freezer (USDA only).
• Performs inventory control (USDA only).
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Must be able to work independently or within a team environment.
• Ability to operate powered industrial vehicle (PIV).
• Must immediately perceive auditory warning signals such as bells, alarms, and horns used to warn employees of start‑up, movement, or approach of equipment.
