About this position Job : CLI-45834-1 Job Type: Direct HirePosition Summary:
The CPA will be responsible for preparing and reviewing tax returns, providing accounting and advisory services, conducting tax planning, assisting with financial reporting, and maintaining strong client relationships. The ideal candidate is technically proficient, detail-oriented, client-focused, and capable of managing multiple projects during busy tax seasons while delivering exceptional service.
Tax Services- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for:
- Trusts and Estates
- Conduct tax research and analyze complex tax issues.
- Develop tax planning strategies to minimize liabilities and maximize savings.
- Ensure compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
- Respond to IRS and state tax notices and correspondence.
- Assist clients with tax audits and examinations as needed.
- Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Assist clients with bookkeeping, general ledger maintenance, and account reconciliations.
- Analyze financial data and provide meaningful recommendations.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare compiled and reviewed financial statements in accordance with professional standards.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to business owners and individual clients.
- Provide guidance regarding entity selection, business growth, succession planning, and cash flow management.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial performance and operational efficiencies.
- Meet with clients regularly to discuss financial and tax strategies.
- Maintain compliance with AICPA, Montana Board of Public Accountants, and firm professional standards.
- Stay current on evolving tax laws, accounting regulations, and industry trends.
- Mentor and support junior accounting staff.
- Assist with workflow management and quality control procedures.
- Participate in business development and community engagement activities.
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 3+ years of public accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations.
- Experience preparing and reviewing individual and business tax returns.
- Proficiency with accounting, tax, and financial reporting software.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
- 5+ years of public accounting experience.
- Experience with tax planning and consulting services.
- Familiarity with Quick Books and cloud-based accounting platforms.
- Experience supervising or mentoring staff.
- Knowledge of small business and closely held company accounting.
