- Lead and oversee daily operations of excavation, grading, and underground utility crews
- Coordinate labor, materials, and equipment to meet schedule and quality goals
- Operate heavy equipment as needed (excavators, dozers, loaders, skid steers, rollers)
- Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Set grades using lasers and grade rods; GPS experience
- Ensure job site safety by enforcing company and OSHA standards
- Communicate clearly with project managers, inspectors, and crew members
- Train and mentor crew members in equipment use, safety, and quality standards
- Monitor progress, solve problems on site, and report issues proactively
- Travel to out-of-town job sites
- Support site cleanup and light equipment maintenance
- 5+ years of experience in heavy civil construction (utilities, grading, or site work)
- 3+ years of leadership experience as a foreman or crew lead
- Proficiency operating a wide range of heavy equipment
- Ability to read blueprints and independently set grade
- Strong communication, leadership, and team-building skills
- Focus on safety and compliance in dynamic field environments
- Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred or willingness to obtain
- Willingness to travel and work extended hours when necessary
- Familiarity with Topcon GPS and light mechanical skills a plus
- Able to work year-round, with some seasonal variation
- Competitive hourly wage – based on experience
- Health Insurance (Medical, Dental, Vision):
Year 1 80% employer–paid (family coverage);
