Nature of Work

This position is responsible for the planning and execution of major programs for the OSU Alumni Association (OSUAA), including Homecoming, Grandparent University (GPU), Coordinating Council and Legacy. The role utilizes strategic engagement approaches to deliver impactful experiences and helps shape innovative, college-wide engagement efforts. This position collaborates with campus and internal partners to strengthen and advance these engagement efforts.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute all logistical aspects of America's Greatest Homecoming
  • Advise and support student volunteers in the planning and implementation of Homecoming events
  • Lead the selection process for Homecoming committees, including Executive, Steering, and general committees
  • Manage the strategy and execution of legacy and future student programs, including Grandparent University and Pistol Pete's Very Merry Mascot Party
  • Develop and implement engaging youth programming for ages 0-18 designed to assimilate them into the Cowboy Family
  • Collaborate with campus partners to align engagement efforts with recruitment initiatives
  • Collaborate with membership and marketing & communications teams to develop and implement legacy outreach and engagement strategies
  • Develop and manage program budgets in partnership with the Assistant VP
  • Provide excellent customer service to legacies, students, alumni, and campus partners
  • Monitor and analyze program data, goals, and engagement metrics to optimize outcomes
  • Assist with Coordinating Council efforts
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Operational Strategy
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop strategic plans for campus programs
  • Ensure alignment of programs with the OSU Alumni Association’s mission and goals
  • Utilize data to evaluate program effectiveness and inform decision‑making
Qualifications Education

Bachelor’s degree is required

Experience

One to two years of experience working with student organizations, programming, or event coordination is preferred

Work Environment

This position operates in an office environment within the OSU Alumni Center. Events and programs may require outdoor work. Position requires availability to work evenings and weekends based on event scheduling.

  • Ability to remain stationary and active for extended periods during events
  • Ability to travel locally and occasionally out of town for events or meetings
  • Ability to frequently lift and move items up to 50 pounds
