Position:
Non‑Tenure‑Track Instructor (Applicant Pool)
Teaching load: typically 1 to 5 Arabic language classes per semester (subject to enrollment and funding).
Contract type:
Non‑Tenure‑Track (Pooled) – contract term varies (semester, fall & spring). Full‑time or part‑time as circumstances allow. FTE 0.10–1.0.
- Teach assigned Arabic language courses, typically 1 to 5 per semester.
- Prepare and deliver instructional materials and assessments in accordance with department standards.
- Engage with students, maintain office hours, and provide academic advising as required.
- Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum development, and other academic duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) from a Foreign University.
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Arabic or closely related field, or equivalent knowledge and experience (e.g., superior proficiency, extensive residence abroad).
- Proficiency level in Arabic appropriate to teaching the course.
- PhD in Arabic or another relevant discipline.
- Superior level proficiency in Arabic.
- Experience teaching at the college level.
Position may be Union‑affiliated if FTE 0.5 or greater. Union affiliation determined by job duties and collective bargaining unit.
