Position Overview
The Chemical & Biological Engineering Department offers bachelor’s degrees in Chemical Engineering and Biological Engineering. This non‑tenure track faculty position will provide instruction in core and specialized subjects, including the following areas:
- Material Science
- Material and Energy Balances
- Unit Operations Laboratory
- Fluid Mechanics
- Thermodynamics
- Heat Transfer
- Separation Processes
- Chemical Reaction Engineering
- Process Dynamics and Control
- Bioprocess Engineering
- Bioseparations
- Transport
- Biotransport
- Capstone Design Course
Instructors may also teach courses in the new biomedical engineering program, develop new courses, and teach at the graduate level.
Duties and Responsibilities- Teach on‑campus and/or online courses.
- Advise, evaluate, and assist students.
- Participate in curriculum and/or course development.
- Contribute positively and professionally to students’ academic success and the mission of Montana State University.
- Relevant degree and experience in chemical or biological engineering.
- Relevant industrial experience.
- Record of successful teaching at the college level.
- Effective interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Strong interest in student success and commitment to quality teaching.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Professional and effective working relationships with individuals from all backgrounds.
- Classified as Non‑Tenure Track Faculty – pooled position.
- Contractual term:
Semester or academic year, part‑time. - Salary commensurate with experience, education, qualifications and courses taught.
