General Information:
o Minimum Years of Experience? 2-3 years minimum with Infection prevention (must be certified)
o Will you accept a first-time traveler? No
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
o Long term and short-term care residents
Duties:
o Quality/Chart reviews
o Auditing
o Supporting staff
o Conducting investigation/manage outbreaks, working with public health
o Helping grain basic infection
o Help train, if possible
o Gap Analysis
- Looking for
- An IP to come and help build an IP program for this LTC
- Possible train/onboard a new IP
- Standardize Infection Prevention and control practices
· Required Licensure & Certifications:
- LPN or RN
- Montana - Certification:
Long-Term Care Certification in Infection Prevention (LTC-CIP) required
Skills required:
o Infection control knowledge: Deep understanding of standard and transmission-based precautions, including hand hygiene, personal protective equipment (PPE), respiratory etiquette, and safe injection practices.
o Cleaning and disinfection: Proficiency in proper environmental cleaning and disinfection procedures for resident rooms and reusable equipment.
o Surveillance and data analysis: Ability to track infection rates, identify trends, conduct data analysis, and report findings to prevent outbreaks.
o Outbreak management: Skills in detecting and managing outbreaks, which may include implementing isolation protocols.
o Regulatory compliance: Knowledge of federal and state regulations and requirements for infection control.
o Resident care practices: Understanding of care activities that carry infection risks, such as wound management, use of catheters, etc.
o Antimicrobial stewardship: Knowledge of antibiotic stewardship principles to promote the appropriate use of antibiotics.
