IBEW Union Position - Starting Wage: $27.08 per hour with step increases up to $29.51 per hour.

POSITION SUMMARY
Responds to outage and other after hours calls, calling out crews and supervisors as needed; monitors ongoing outages and communicates with crews. After regular office hours, answers telephoning member’s routine questions. Performs a variety of office and data entry duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Primary person to receive after hours outage calls, calling out trouble and emergency crews, dispatchers, and supervisors as needed; provide crew and member communication as the situation dictates; informs priority outage call member list before planned outage occurs; calls members to assure that power has been restored.Maintain a 100% thorough and accurate record of outages, including system status and crew locations; ensuring ongoing radio communication for safety purposes.Receives and processes requests for cable locations and coordinates same with other utilities to ensure effective location procedures. Arrange for emergency locates as the need arises.Accurately generate, prepare and route service orders to the appropriate department as needed.Maintain OMS and records ensuring accurate and complete information regarding the configuration of the distribution facilities throughout FEC territory.Answer general questions from the public regarding FEC policies and procedures, directing inquiry to appropriate employee when necessary.As is needed, will back up dispatcher and other department personnel.As time allows each day, spend time reviewing and learning the duties of the position in order to promote greater working knowledge.When performing all responsibilities, is efficient, timely, accurate, and confidential. Constantly reviews work assigned to establish proper priority to meet the individual needs/deadlines of each task/project.Always assist members/vendors/employees and the general public in a courteous and professional manner ensuring their continued satisfaction with FEC. Work in harmony and show respect to all fellow employees in order to promote an effective and pleasant working environment.Maintain ongoing communication with supervisor regarding situations requiring immediate attention, problems/concerns, questions, etc.In pursuit of zero workplace incidents, promotes and maintains a positive safety culture while adhering to all applicable policies outlined in the Safety Manual. Reports all incidents and potential safety hazards in a timely manner to supervisor or Safety Coordinator.Become familiar with and keep current with FEC objectives and applicable policies.Performs other duties as assigned by management applying the same skill and enthusiasm as with regularly assigned responsibilities.MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Job Related
Experience:
1 to 4 years in an office, dispatching experience preferred.
Supervision: No Experience Supervising Required.
Computer
Skills:
Proficient on computer, including Microsoft Office 365 and be familiar with electronic data processing programs and procedures.
Certificates & Licenses: None required.
Other Qualifications
- Valid Montana Driver's License and be insurable to drive FEC vehicles.
- Be a team player with effective verbal and written skills.
- Able to travel occasionally out-of-area and/or overnight.
- Assume responsibility without direct supervision, display initiative and exercise good judgment.
- Legible handwriting.
- Possess proven ability to maintain confidentiality.
- This position is required to join the Union and is covered under the current CBA.
