Overview

The Communications Consultant will lead employee communication initiatives within EPIC’s national Communication & Engagement (C&E) practice. This role is responsible for developing and executing strategic, multi‑channel communication campaigns that support clients’ employee engagement and benefits education goals. It is a consultative position that partners closely with internal teams and clients to drive the success of EPIC’s Employee Benefits practice and long‑term client relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a strategic consultant for employee‑facing benefits communications, from initial concept through execution.
  • Partner with C&E colleagues, EPIC account teams, and clients to develop communication strategies, content, and campaign plans.
  • Create clear, compelling, and engaging communications across multiple channels, including digital, print, and in‑person formats.
  • Translate complex benefits information into easy‑to‑understand messaging that drives employee action and engagement.
  • Ensure all content meets high editorial standards and is optimized for both audience and delivery channel.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, establishing priorities and workflows to ensure timely, accurate delivery.
  • Collaborate with and oversee third‑party vendors supporting print, digital, and online communication initiatives.
  • Play a key role in building, maintaining, and managing content libraries and communication assets.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5–8 years of experience in communications, with a strong preference for employee benefits or healthcare industry experience.
  • Experience working in a client‑facing or consultative environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong storytelling ability with a talent for simplifying complex information.
  • Highly organized, self‑motivated, and detail‑oriented.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong project management mindset with the ability to prioritize and manage competing demands.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Flexible, collaborative, and solution‑oriented approach to problem‑solving.
  • Experience developing compelling content; benefits‑related content is a plus.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating across teams.
Compensation

The national average salary for this role is $65,000‑$85,000 in base pay, exclusive of bonuses or benefits. The base pay offered will be determined based on experience, skills, training, certifications, education, internal equity and market data.
