This position is a Registered Nurse (RN) who assumes a visible leadership role and is responsible for overseeing patient care and administrative activities in their respective units and care delivery. Oversees day to day assigned unit operations and continually evaluates quality and effectiveness of patient care, clinical judgment, productivity, staffing, and education. Supports the organization in fulfilling the mission, vision, and values of Logan Health.

* Qualifications:
*** Current Montana RN License
** or
* * a multi-state compact license with authorization to practice nursing within the state of Montana; required. BSN degree preferred.
* Current Healthcare Provider CPR.
* Minimum of one (1) year current unit specific experience. Whereas this position covers multiple areas, the experience must be in the unit of higher acuity.
* Previous Charge Nurse or Supervisor experience preferred.
* National Certification in unit specific preferred.
* Possess medical/clinical knowledge and technical skills for respective department(s)/unit(s).
* Promotes excellence through setting high standards and providing high quality outcomes.
* Ability to act with integrity, kindness, and exhibit empathy.
* Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.

* Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.

Specific Duties :
*** Assumes a visible leadership role and is responsible for overseeing patient care and administrative activities in their respective units and care delivery. Oversees day to day unit operations as applicable to assigned area(s).
* Conducts annual performance appraisals according to HR guidelines. Provides regular, scheduled feedback to employees regarding performance. In partnership with leadership, contributes to hiring, corrective action and termination decisions.
* Evaluates quality and effectiveness of patient care, clinical judgment, interpersonal, and communication skills of assigned unit.
* Promotes staffing compliance and ensures safe staffing assignments. Monitors staffing to achieve productivity and budget standards.
* Performs within the scope and standards of practice for Registered Professional Nurses in the state (as set forth by the current State Board of Nursing regulations, the American Nurses Association, and professional organizations specific to specialty to guide practice and standards within the workplace).
* Develops, revises and ensures compliance with policies and procedures, standards of care, and professional practice acts as applicable to assigned area(s).
* Serves as a role model by providing leadership expertise and serves as a clinical and administrative resource to others. Provides coaching and development opportunities for assigned staff as applicable to assigned area(s).
* Serves as an advocate for the professional nursing practice and supports the work of the unit-based council. Works in conjunction with the unit leadership to advance the practice of nursing and the delivery of care in a coordinated, supportive way.
