Med Surg RN Role Overview

Responsibilities
  • Providing comprehensive care to a diverse mix of adult and pediatric patients across pre‑ and post‑operative and general medical conditions.
  • Utilizing low patient‑to‑nurse ratios to conduct thorough assessments, deliver timely interventions, and provide personalized education.
  • Operating modern equipment such as bedside monitoring, barcode medication administration, and ultrasound‑guided IV tools to support safe and efficient practice.
  • Collaborating with providers, the Acute Care Director, the Charge Nurse, and the CNO, and working closely with an interdisciplinary team.
  • Executing the full nursing process—assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation—to achieve safe and effective outcomes for surgical, medical, and pediatric populations.
  • Participating in cross‑training opportunities to broaden competencies and contribute to a flexible, high‑performing unit.
Qualifications
  • Graduated from an accredited RN program.
  • Current Montana RN licensure.
  • Completion of BLS, ACLS, and PALS within six months of hire.
