Overview

Logan Health Children’s is seeking an experienced NICU Registered Nurse (RN) for night shift. The hospital is a 12‑bed, Level III NICU located in Kalispell, Montana.

Qualifications
  • Current Montana RN license or a multi‑state compact license authorized in Montana (required).
  • BSN degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar NICU position (new graduate RNs not considered).
  • RQI Provider (BLS) within 7 days of hire or before independent patient care.
  • NRP certification within 6 months of hire/transfer.
  • STABLE certification within 1 year of hire/transfer.
  • Knowledge of professional nursing theory, medical terminology, HIPAA, OSHA, and clinical laboratory methods.
  • Excellent organizational, critical‑thinking, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and willingness to learn additional software.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized, goal‑directed nursing care using the nursing process.
  • Maintain nursing standards of care, respond to changing workloads and patient conditions by remaining calm, assessing, prioritizing, and seeking assistance when needed.
  • Transcribe and implement provider orders accurately.
  • Problem‑solve issues affecting patient care.
  • Practice infection control procedures per policy.
  • Identify, evaluate, and report reaction changes in patients’ physical and mental conditions.
  • Document all patient encounters following organizational standards.
  • Provide instruction and education to patients and families about health and medical needs.
  • Assess and anticipate patient needs and coordinate necessary interventions as per policy and provider orders.
Shift Details

Night Shift – 12 hours. Full‑time, 36 hours per week, 12‑hour night shifts. Logan Health operates 24/7; schedules may be adjusted as needed.
