Job Overview
Logan Health seeks experienced nurses for our Med/Surg Plus Float Pool. Nurses in this versatile role deliver exceptional care across multiple settings, including Medical, Surgical, Inpatient Rehab (IPR), PCU, Emergency Department, Pathways, Brendan House (TCU and LTC), Women’s and Children’s Units, and the SANE Team. The opportunity allows nurses to expand skill set, gain diverse clinical experience, and make a meaningful impact on patient care.
Compensation- Enhanced Pay: $6.00 per hour on top of base wage.
- Shift Differentials:
Night Shift $3.75 per hour;
Weekends $2.25 per hour.
Night Shift – 12 hours, 36 hours per week.
Responsibilities- Provide high-quality nursing care across multiple units, adapting to varying patient needs.
- Maintain competencies in at least two units beyond the Med/Surg departments.
- Uphold safety, privacy, and patient-centered care standards.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care.
Job Specific
Duties include:
- Exhibit professionalism, civility, teamwork, and customer service.
- Know policies and procedures related to RN duties and patient safety.
- Operate and maintain equipment to departmental standards.
- Maintain age-appropriate nursing standards and execute physician orders.
- Perform comprehensive assessment on admission and at regular intervals.
- Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapy per policies.
- Reassess patients, identify changes, implement interventions, and evaluate responses.
- Communicate critical changes via SBAR format.
- Document clinical findings and regulatory mandates in chart.
- Maintain yearly unit competencies and educational requirements.
- Comply with regulatory and organizational standards.
- Maintain regular attendance as scheduled.
- Current Montana RN license or multi-state compact license authorized in Montana.
- Minimum 2 years nursing experience.
- Ability to cross‑train and maintain competence in ≥2 units in addition to Med/Surg.
- BLS required.
- ACLS required for PCU and ED; TNCC, ENPC, and PALS required for ED within 12 months of hire.
- BSN degree preferred; national certification in Medical, Surgical, or emergency care preferred.
- Excellent organizational, detail‑oriented, self‑starter, critical‑thinking, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, maintaining confidentiality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication; interpersonal skills with tact and diplomacy.
- Competent in Microsoft Office and ability to learn other software.
