Our Surgical & Oncology Unit cares for a wide range of patients, including Orthopedic, Neurology, Thoracic, Urology, and Surgical Oncology populations. As part of our team, you'll provide specialized care to oncology patients receiving inpatient chemotherapy, symptom management, and supportive treatments while collaborating closely with physicians, pharmacists, and multidisciplinary care teams. This role offers the opportunity to develop expertise in oncology nursing while maintaining a broad clinical skill set in a fast-paced acute care environment.
WhatYou'll Do
- Administer and monitor inpatient chemotherapy treatments in accordance with established protocols and safety standards.
- Assess, educate, and support oncology patients and their families throughout their treatment journey.
- Collaborate with oncologists, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Deliver individualized, evidence-based nursing care to patients with complex medical, surgical, and oncology needs.
- Monitor for treatment‑related side effects, complications, and changes in patient condition, ensuring timely intervention and escalation when needed.
- Care for a variety of surgical patients, including those recovering from thoracic procedures, colectomies, Whipple procedures, and other complex surgeries.

Surgical / Oncology Unit FlyerQualifications:
- Current Montana RN license or a multi state compact license with authorization to practice nursing within the state of Montana; required.
- BSN degree preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in similar position within a medical setting (eg, physician office, clinic, or hospital) preferred.
- Experience in assigned area(s) preferred.
- Possess knowledge of professional nursing theory, medical terminology and principles of professional nursing practice to administer and evaluate patient care.
- Healthcare Provider (HCP) CPR and/or BLS certification required as dictated by each practice/service line.
- Additional certifications may be required as applicable to assigned area(s).
- Understanding of the confidentiality laws that govern the provider‑patient relationship, including but not limited to, HIPAA guidelines.
- Knowledge of equipment, supplies, and instruments used in a medical office; simple routine clinical laboratory methods, universal blood and body fluid precautions.
- Must have knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations, established protocol for storing poisons, narcotics, acids, caustics, and flammable items; restriction imposed by various manage care carriers, various forms inherent to profession.
