Logan Health is looking for an experienced Registered Nurse with a passion for Oncology to support our patients through their treatment journey.
Where you’ll be working:This position will primarily be based out Logan Health Medical Center Hospital Infusion. You will also float to assist our outpatient Hematology/Oncology Infusion located in the Rock building at 350 Heritage Way in Kalispell, MT.
What you’ll be doing :This role involves direct patient care in our Oncology Infusion unit, focusing on administering chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive infusion therapies.
Key Responsibilities:- Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other oncology-specific infusions.
- Administering treatments to Pediatric patients as well as adults
- Provide patient education and emotional support tailored to each stage of the treatment process.
- Monitor and manage patient symptoms and infusion reactions, collaborating with the broader oncology care team.
- Maintain accurate patient records and participate in treatment planning.
- Prior experience in Oncology or Infusion, chemotherapy and immunotherapy administration preferred
- Have completed the ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certification Course.
* Will be required to obtain within 6 months of hire if you do not have this. - Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN) is a plus!
- APHON (Association of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Nursing) provider course
* Will be required to obtain within 24 months of hire if you do not have this. - PEARS course
* Will be required within 12 months of hire if you do not have. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to support patients and families compassionately.

- Current Montana RN license or a multi state compact license with authorization to practice nursing within the state of Montana; required. BSN degree preferred.
- 2 years of nursing experience required in either acute care or infusion setting. Oncology experience preferred.
- Completion of the ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certification Course or willing to obtain within 6 months of hire.
- RQI Provider (BLS) required within 7 days of hire/transfer or before independent patient care, whichever occurs first.
- Possess knowledge of professional nursing theory, medical terminology and principles of professional nursing practice to administer and evaluate patient care.
- Additional certifications may be required as applicable to assigned area(s).
- Understanding of the confidentiality laws that govern the provider-patient relationship, including but not limited to, HIPAA guidelines.
- Knowledge of equipment, supplies, and instruments used in a medical office; simple routine clinical laboratory methods, universal blood and body fluid precautions.
- Must have knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations, established protocol for storing poisons, narcotics, acids, caustics, and flammable items; restriction imposed by various manage care carriers, various forms inherent to profession.
- Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently. Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy. Possess considerable knowledge of the behavior and needs of patients.
- Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.
