The CHEF’STORE Sales Associate helps maintain an atmosphere of superior customer service, promoting the US Foods strategy:

During a shift, you will be assigned to any of our departments, depending on our customer and/or business needs. At the direction of store management, you may work in any or all the following areas:

  • Front end of the store, selling merchandise and assisting customers through the checkout process.
  • Sales floor in Meat/Frozen, Produce/Dairy, and Dry Goods/Culinary Equipment & Supply departments.
  • Replenishing freight and rotating product in any department.

You may also assist during special store events, such as vendor fairs, sales floor resets, and inventory processes.

Schedule:
Full‑Time with benefits starting Day 1

30–40 Hours

Weekends and holidays required

Frequent lifting of 40‑80 pounds

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Front End
  • Ensure all customers have an impeccable CHEF’STORE experience by developing and maximizing relationships with the store’s customers.
  • Perform sales and cash functions in the POS efficiently and accurately.
  • Perform cart‑to‑cart transfer of all products at checkout, with visual inspection for tampering.
  • Verify cart content vs. purchases as receipt checker.
  • Perform store opening and/or closing functions at the front end based on assigned shift.
Sales Floor and Stocking
  • Focus on increasing sales and managing shrinkage, assisting customers to find products and informing them of services.
  • Receive inventory shipments and stock shelves neatly, ensuring proper rotation and quality audits.
  • Label all merchandise properly, including blaster tags, catch‑weight labels, and PLU tags.
  • Replenish sales floor by down‑stocking freight from top stock, following FIFO.
  • Use computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and proprietary software as needed.
  • Ensure products are accessible, visually appealing, and available.
  • Assist with price changes as directed by the Pricing Lead and Store Management.
  • Assist in opening and closing duties of the store.
  • Participate in inventory and cycle‑count process as needed.
Customer Courtesy
  • Maintain a safe environment by following safety policies.
  • Keep sales floor, front end, restrooms, parking lot, and entry area clean.
  • Gather carts from parking lot and recirculate to designated area.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned or required by Store Management.

Interact with customers and service providers.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work in a retail store open to the public, with exposure to outdoor weather, moderate noise, and varying temperatures. Physical interaction with customers required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 6‑12 months retail cashier and/or stocking experience required.
  • Minimum one year retail selling and/or customer service experience preferred.

  • Provide fast, easy, efficient, and professional service to each customer.
  • Apply good common sense, logical thinking, and basic mathematical aptitude.

  • Work flexible hourly schedule, including holidays and weekends.
  • Possess basic computer and cash handling skills and general office equipment proficiency.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent work experience required.
